Books (regular books, magazines and picture stories): Maximum of five books per person
AV materials (videos and CDs): Maximum of two materials per person (You can borrow separately from books)

When borrowing books (including AV materials)
You must have a sign-out card. Please present a sign-out card at the counter together with the book, etc., to have your borrowing processed. When you borrow a book for the first time, you must fill out an application form available at the registry table and present it together with ID on which your address, name, and so forth can be identified (driver’s license or health insurance card, etc.) Your sign-out card will then be created.

When returning books (including AV materials)
There is no need to show your sign-out card. Present the borrowed book to the counter. The return will be processed after you bring the book to the returning counter. When the library is closed such as at nighttime or on holidays, drop off borrowed items into the returning slot located at the side of the main entrance. Return will be processed on the following open day. (As AV materials may be damaged when dropped through the slot, you must return them to the counter.)

When searching for a book (including AV materials)
Books and the like are classified according the contents and located as indicated on the information board. Furthermore, if you know part of the title or name of the author of the book, you can search by using the computer (terminal available for users) whether the book is available and its location.

When you cannot find the book (including AV materials) for which you are looking
Ask a library staff member. If the book is checked out and you reserve it, you will be contacted as soon as the book has been returned. (However, reservations cannot be made for magazines or AV materials.) You can make a purchase request for books that are not available at the library. We will make our best effort to meet your request. (However, magazines and AV materials cannot be requested.)

When researching
You can use the reference room on the 2nd floor. Dictionaries, local collections, gazettes, and reduced editions of newspapers, etc., are available.

When you want to make a copy
As you are allowed to make copies within the scope of the copyright, you can do so by filling out an application form and present it together with the material at the counter. You will be charged \10 per copy. However, only materials that belong to the library can be copied, and copying of materials that a user brings in is not allowed.

When using the listening corner
You can watch videos and listen to CDs inside the building. You must fill out an application form and present it at the counter together with empty boxes for the video or CD. However, only one video per person can be borrowed.
