Precious materials that tell the history and culture of Chiryu, including the Post Station “Chiryu-juku” of the modern Tokaido, are exhibited. Special exhibitions or special projects are held several times a year.
Chiryu-shuku Corner (1st floor)
How “Chiryu-shuku,” a post station of Tokaido in the Edo Period, looked like in those days is shown and explained by pictures, a diorama, and so on. Some Ukiyoe paintings and travel equipment of those days are also exhibited.
Primitive, Ancient and Medieval Ages Corner (2nd floor)
Materials associated with Chiryu from the Primitive Age through the Medieval Ages, including archaeological findings from the Nishinaka Remains, are displayed.
Folklore Corner (2nd floor)
A restored farmhouse and old implements that were donated by citizens are displayed here.
Roichi Naito Corner (2nd floor)
Roichi Naito was a politician who fought for democratic rights as a warrior with people like Taisuke Itagaki. A draft constitution (replica) written by him and other items such as Japanese miniature armor handed down to the Naitos are displayed.
