EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan
" Iceland Day" & " Icelandic Art Festival in Chiryu 2005" Report
Tuesday, July 12 to Monday, July 18, 2005
Many artists, school staff members, and government officials came to Japan from Iceland around July 15, which was “Iceland Day” at EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan. A total of about 110 people stayed in Chiryu during that period, and concerts and performances were held.
In particular, members of the Kársness School Choir and Skálholt Cathedral Choir interacted with citizens at various places throughout the period and played a primary role in “citizen communication,” which was the purpose of the expo friendship project. Centering on communication between the choirs and citizens, the friendship project of Iceland and Chiryu are reviewed.
