
Further to the opening concert of the Icelandic art festival, a joint reception was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Iceland and the Chiryu International Association.
A scene from a speech by the organizer Ryohei Kato, chairman of the Chiryu International Association, can be seen at the right in the picture. Mr. Kato was also appointed as the ambassador of EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan, the friendship project.

Reception: About 200 people—110 people from Iceland and 90 people from Chiryu city—participated in the reception.

During the reception, Lioness club members played the zeni taiko representing Chiryu.
After the stage was closed, an impromptu zeni taiko practice started with the Kársness School Choir and Skálholt Cathedral Choir. (Right in the picture)

At the end of the reception, Minister Þorgerdur and Mayor Honda joined the choral singing. (Left in the picture) They sang Sukiyaki.
