To prevent furniture from falling, secure it directly to a pillar or to a stud or furring strips. In any event, be careful to not leave a gap between furniture. Wood screws, cup hooks, or brackets will work.
Tie books for each shelf with a rope. Do not forget to secure the shelf itself as well.
• Secure propane gas cylinders tightly with chains.
• Reinforce collapsed walls and stone walls.
• Reinforce unstable antennas and tiles on roofs.
• Organize plant pots on the balcony.
• If you feel an earthquake, slow down gradually, park on the left side of the street, and turn off the engine.
• Do not exit the car until the earthquake stops. Listen to the radio to obtain information about the earthquake.
• Leave the key inserted when you leave the car, and do not lock the doors.
