How to perform procedures related to water services

Regarding initiation and discontinuation of water services

  • Please visit to the water services department (counter 10 on the second floor of the Chiryu municipal government building) at least 3 days prior to initiating or discontinuing any water services (if you want to make a payment through an account transfer, please bring your bank account seal and an official document indicating your account number (such as your passbook)). Though there have recently been several customers making applications immediately before initiating a water service, we are unable to fulfill such requests (especially for same-day applications) as there are already works reserved for those who applied earlier and serving such requests may cause inconveniences to those customers. Please process applications such as those for moving in advance.
  • We cannot accept applications by e-mail or phone. However, applications can be made by fax using a downloadable form below (faxes are accepted 24 hours a day, but when the city municipal government is closed, it will be accepted on the next business day or later). Please click here to download the template (pdf file). The fax number is stated below.

Service counter business hours: 8:30 am to 5:15 pm on weekdays
Fax Number: 0566-84-0057 (only for initiating and discontinuing water and sewerage services)

(There are no counter services or work performed on sites on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and during the new year)

Please keep all taps off when initiating or discontinuing a service; your presence will not be required at the site.

  • Customers making payments through account transfers and who are moving within the city (moving within Chiryu city) must fill in and submit a new account transfer payment form with their new address (the forms will be stored by the city municipal government or a financial institution within the city).

Change of name for water services

  • There are 2 names required for water services: the User and the Owner.
    User: Person who actually uses the water service and pays the bills. If, for example, you want to transfer an account from a parent to a child, please change the registered name.
    Owner: Person who installs water supply equipment (taps and water-supply pipes). If buying and/or selling or inheriting a property (mainly a house), please change the registered name.
    If you want to change your billing address (e.g., changing your billing address from your home to your office), you will need to submit a form.
  • Please submit an application to change the User/Owner name for water services using the provided form. Use the form download from the Internet and either bring it in or mail it to the water services department.
  • Changing a user name can also be done through Aichi prefecture’s Electronic Application/Notification System (online application) rather than through writing. For more information, please click here (User registration is required to use the system). If you have any question regarding the electronic application system, please contact the following department (our division does not handle such matters).

* If making payments through account transfers (or if switching from account transfer payments to counter payments), please contact the number below to make all necessary changes.
