We sometimes receive inquiries regarding sudden increases in the used water amount indicated in the Water consumption notice. The cause of most of these cases is thought to be leaking. Leaking can occur when a water pipe is broken, for example. You can check whether there is a leak or not by first closing all the taps in the house and checking the pilot indicator as shown in the figure to the right. If the pilot indicator is spinning, it means that there is a water leak within your house. In that case, please contact a certified plumber in Chiryu for water supply equipment.
There are cases in which you may be exempted from or receive deductions for your water fees during a leak. However, please note that this only applies when the work is performed by a certified plumber for water supply equipment in Chiryu.
* If there is a water leak on a road (e.g., wet roads) from a water valve, please contact the Water Engineering Works Division (Phone: 83-1111).
